Course Description

This course looks at some of the most common misconceptions that people have about Islam and seeks to clarify those misconceptions.

Does Islam teach terrorism? Does Islam teach suicide bombing? Does ISIS represent all the Muslims?

Why are those Muslims always fighting?

Why do Muslim women cover? Do they sleep with their clothes on?

What exactly does Islam teach?

These are just a few of the many questions that will be addressed in this course.

In addition to addressing misconceptions, this introductory course introduces the student to the five pillars of Islam.

This course is designed for those genuinely interested in finding out about Islam. If your desire is to be argumentative and insulting, this course is NOT for you. There are 18 lectures and three quizzes, with approximately 3.8 hours of lectures.

I did it simply because it was a compulsory subject. However, logging into the English 102 online class, I just didn't want the class to end! The depth of information, the elaborate way it was presented, never ceased to fascinate me.It is simply amazing how Sr. Rasheedah is able to keep her students glued to the screen; you simply feel the vibrancy of the class as if it were a brick and mortar classroom! I am looking forward to being her student again.Twahir Kassim, Kenya, student, English 102, online university, Regional Coordinator - East AfricaSr Rasheedah is so good (May God preserve her). The ease and flow Sr. Rasheedah has in teaching English language was tremendous. Note-taking and making short notes for lectures is very important, as it plays an important part when revising study materials or preparing to give lectures.Sr. Rasheedah, being an educator and having years of teaching and training expertise, taught us a very professional approach for note-taking from lectures, books, and preparatory notes for public speaking.Mohammad Irfan, Civil Engineer, UAE, English 101 & English 102, online universitywww.englishtrainingcenter.org
